
Ian king trained in ballet and contemporary dance at the Rambert School, London, completing his training at the Heinz Bosel Foundation in Munich, Germany. After this Ian performed in ballet in Germany and contemporary dance in the UK.
He then made the decision to go to University where he read history of Art , gaining a BA degree at the University College London and an MA degree at the Courtauld Institute of Art. Subsequently, having worked for various art organizations and galleries, Ian decided to return to bodywork.
His background in ballet and contemporary dance influences his approach to both Pilates and GYROTONIC®. He pays particular attention to alignment and coordination, believing that movement quality is a key element in exercising effectively, whether for rehabilitative purposes or general conditioning.
As well as teaching GYROTONIC®, Ian trained and qualified with (and is a member of) the Pilates Foundation UK Ltd.

Linda was a professional dancer for over 30 years. She began her training in 1961 at the Rambert School of Ballet and was a leading member of the London Contemporary Dance theatre from 1969-1987.
As well as teaching throughout her career for many dance companies and schools around the world, she appeared in the original cast of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's "Song & Dance", as a member of Wayne Sleep's "Dash" & "Hot She Show" and in many operas at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
In 2000 she retrained as a Pilates Teacher under the direction of Alan Herdman. In addition to teaching at Studio 74, Linda also teaches at several well established Studios in London.

Rosy was amongst the first to experience Pilates when Alan Herdman first brought the Method over to England in 1970, basing his studio at The Place where she was studying dance at the time.
She has many years experience in professional dance in performing, choreographing and teaching in Theatre, Film and the Music industry. When diagnosed with serious osteo-arthritic degeneration in her hips, she began her apprenticeship with Alan Herdman in 1998 and taught Pilates both in the workplace and in Studios in London.
Following her double hip re-surfacing and replacement in 2002, she is particularly interested in the remedial benefits of Pilates, and she continues to teach at the Royal Opera House, The RCA, as well as private classes.

Gerry is certified by the Pilates Foundation UK Ltd as a Comprehensive Apparatus and Mat Pilates teacher. The Pilates Foundation was established by a group of experienced Pilates teachers to ensure the highest standard of teacher training. In addition to a broad knowledge of the Pilates Method, Gerry has extensive experience in sport injury rehabilitation and both physical and neurological conditions.
An honours graduate from the Royal Military College of Science, Gerry's interest and involvement in Pilates began several years ago during his previous career as a Management Consultant. While looking for an antidote to the stresses of corporate life, he first studied The Alexander Technique and then progressed to Pilates. He recognised that just being cardio fit was not enough to maintain a health body. Pilates offered a method by which a person could recover the natural balanced body of their youth. His total belief in the efficacy of Pilates and its contribution to overall health, led him to the decision to leave corporate life and retrain as a Pilates Instructor.

Lina has a dance background and encountered Pilates 10 years ago when she suffered stress injuries to her back and pelvis. The Pilates Method became the tool to break bad habits and to learn how to move in a more efficient and economical way. The result was a painfree and functional body!
In her classes, Lina, focus on balancing and re-educating Muscle groups, movement quality and the subtleness of deep core engagement. Lina is inspired by the Franklin Method and by the work of Tom Myers and is a member of the Pilates Foundation UK Ltd.

Elaine grew up in Buckinghamshire and completed her full time dance training at the Arts Educational School, Tring and the Central School of Ballet, London before joining Northern Ballet Theatre under Christopher Gable.
Several years later she moved to S. Africa to become a soloist with the NAPAC Dance Company in Durban and remained there for five years. As well as performing Elaine developed her teaching skills working on a variety of youth and community projects in the townships and rural areas.
On returning to London she undertook various dance projects and discovered the GYROTONIC® system. She completed her teacher training in 2000 with the help of a Lisa Ullmann Scholarship at the European GYROTONIC® Headquarters in Bad Krozingen Germany, studying with Juliu Horvath and Gina Muensterkoetter.
Elaine opened Studio 74 with Amanda Menage in January 2003 and offers both GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® classes as well as GYROTONIC® pre-training courses.
Elaine is now a certified GYROKINESIS® Master Teacher and gives regular teacher trainings.

Sal originally trained as a dancer at the Urdang Academy of Performing Arts in Covent Garden before embarking on a dance career. Later his passion for teaching led him to train as a Pilates instructor with the Bodycontrol Pilates Association and Polestar Pilates UK. This balance of Pilates and dance training lead to Sal discovering Gyrotonic, resulting in a move to the United States to train as an instructor in both Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis with Master Trainer Bradley Kreamer at the International Headquarters in Miami, Florida.

Born and raised in the US, Lynne was a competing amateur gymnast in her teens with a passion for dance and sport. In 1986 she moved to London where she continued an established career as professional singer and performer. After the caesarean birth of her son, she found Pilates to be an invaluable tool in regaining her strength and core stability as well as correcting her breathing techniques, ultimately inspiring her to train as a matwork teacher through the Pilates Foundation UK. Through Pilates she discovered GYROTONIC® and was immediately hooked on how it made her body look and feel and went on to do her teacher training with master trainer Michell Cross. She has more recently completed her GYROKINESIS® teacher training with master trainers Elaine and Beatriz and is a member of the Pilates Foundation UK as well as a Level III member of REPs.

Beatriz was born and trained in Spain. After graduating at the Real Escuela de Arte Dramatico y Danza de Madrid she danced in various companies in Spain, Belgium and South Africa and as a guest artist in Japan, New York, Europe and the UK.
It was during a dance project in New York in 1996 that she first came into contact with GYROTONIC® through its inventor,Juliu Horvath. She then trained with him and came back to the UK to open the first GYROTONIC® Studio in London.
Beatriz teaches ballet for professionals, children and beginners and has developed a choreographic platform called Atelier for independent artist of various disciplines to meet audiences in an intimate setting.
She is a GYROKINESIS® Master teacher and GYROTONIC® Pretrainer and gives regular teacher training courses with Elaine.

Tomoko earned BA degree in Arts and Literature in her home country, Japan where she also studied ballet since she was seven. She moved to UK in 1996 and further explored her interests in body and movement. As well as teaching ballet to children and assisting in Qi Gong classes, she took part in other cultural activities that include “how to wear Kimono workshop” at William Adams Festival in Kent and “Kimono reception” at Royal Opera House.
Tomoko discovered Gyrotonic through Beatriz Pascual in 2002 and did an apprenticeship under her before completing her training with Juliu Hovarth in June 2003. Tomoko’s interest in human well-being and internal energetics has further taken her to train in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She is due to complete her BSc training in 2008.
